IQHA Show & contest Rules & Point
System
Show Approvals: 1. Each approved show will pay $1.00 per
class entry for all IQHA approved classes to IQHA Show & Contest Division
within ten (10) days of the last day of the show, accompanied by a complete set
of class results and class sheets to show which horses were actually exhibited
in the class. These fees shall be held in reserve for the purchase of
year-end awards, and no more than 25% shall be withheld for
communication. 2. If fees from previous year are not paid in full prior
to the date of request for approval (60 days prior to proposed show date) of the
current year's proposed show, approval will be denied. 3. Shows are
expected to raise their entry fees sufficiently to cover Rule #1, as it is
expected that the exhibitors will pay this fee rather than have it be an expense
to the approved show. 4.
All shows approved by IQHA must be held in the State of Idaho except that
out-of-state associates may apply for Idaho approval and the request will be
considered on an individual basis by the Show & Contest committee before
becoming an Idaho approved show. 5. Show approval forms must be
completed and returned to IQHA no later than thirty (30) days prior to annual
meeting. A list of classes may be attached. 6. In all IQHA
approved shows, the youth and amateur halter classes shall be exhibited before
the open halter classes and that shall be the order on the show bills for all
IQHA approved shows.
Year-End Awards 1. Horse owner and/or lessee, as specified on the registration
papers, must be a member of IQHA. Horses registered in partnership, ranch
or corporation, must have membership in that same name. Dues must be paid
before points will be counted. Family membership includes immediate family
- husband, wife, and their children, eighteen and under as of January first of
membership year. Exhibitors must be members of IQHA. 2. The IQHA
shall use the official IQHA Point System for year-end awards with points
counting one point for each horse in class plus AQHA points for each horse
placed above. Points chart is included with these rules.
3. Only points earned in IQHA approved shows will count for
year end awards. A one-time per year fee of $10.00 will be charged to
nominate the horse for IQHA points. The fee must be paid, and the horse
must be nominated for year-end points on special forms before the points will be
counted for year-end awards. The nomination fees are to be used solely for
point system maintenance. 4. Points in Amateur and Novice

member, the current points will be considered for year-end awards and no
additional points will be added. 10. Unless an agreement to the
